2021 Artist In Residence: Post Office Projects

This past six weeks I have been an Artist in Residence at Post Office Projects, Gallery and Studio, in Port Adelaide. It’s been a by-design intensive period of making and conceptual development. The past 2 years have been so focused on Regret, so this period was about giving air-time to all the other ideas that were coming up for me. I also honed on my conceptual development process, recording it for a future project. Using my endurance performance training, I applied similar structures. For example, I used 2 hour time blocks to do just one thing. Drawing. Researching. Looking (Images/cinema/artworks). Thinking. Writing. Material Experimentation. Listening. I found that pushing through the discomfort that inevitably rises up, took me to places I couldn't have accessed at minute 22, but that did reveal themselves me at hour 1, minute 58. The persistence paid off and I have found myself at the end of this period with a couple of bodies of work that I can now take into the making development stage. So, keep your eyes peeled. Performance sculptures, video works and new live works are coming soon. X
