Artist Mentoring with Ida

Mentoring for artists who want clarity, momentum, and sustainable growth.

My mentoring supports artists to deepen their practice, articulate their ideas with confidence, and build working lives that are both ambitious and sustainable. Our sessions are focused, thoughtful, and practical, offering strategic guidance alongside conceptual depth. This is a space to think clearly, make aligned decisions, and move your work forward with intention.

Hi, I’m Ida. Let me introduce myself.

I am a practicing Artist, Educator and Artist Mentor from Australia, currently based in Berlin.

Since 2020 I have mentored artists privately from Adelaide to Mumbai, the UAE to New Mexico. It has been my absolute joy to watch Artists bloom in the form of successful applications, conceptually rigorous exhibitions and artwork sales, to confident artworld networking, an organised handle on the business side of practice and enhanced art/life wellbeing.

Being an artist myself, I understand that the general way of doing things doesn’t always work for us; each one of us has a different energy, flow, style and outlook. In a career where imagination reigns, technique is unique to the hand that bears the tool and the 21st century state of social/economical/cultural multitude is upon us - individual mentoring is more essential than ever.

I can’t wait to meet you! Scroll down for more information.

How it all works:

  • Mentoring sessions take place on Thursdays, between 7am – 9pm CET (Central European Time)

  • Sessions are themed so that we can have a supercharged hour (although you can just have a general session too!) You will always leave with tangible processes, tools and worksheets to support you after the session has ended. Scroll down to see the themes!

  • Standard rate: $160 AUD per hour. Conversion to your currency will happen after check out, be sure to check your rate beforehand.

  • Accessibility Rate: $95 AUD per hour. I offer 3 x Accessibility sessions per month, reserved for those navigating financial pressure or transition periods (limited to one per person, per month).

  • Booking Sessions Times occurs through Calendly. Here is the link.

  • Questions? Email me at hello@idasophia.art or use the form at the bottom of the page.

Choose a session to match your needs:

I mentor within clearly defined themes so our time together can be focused, intentional, and genuinely useful. By choosing a theme in advance and completing a short questionnaire, I can prepare more deeply for your session and tailor it to exactly where you are. This allows us to work with greater clarity and momentum, and ensures you leave with practical tools, processes, and worksheets that continue to support your practice long after our session ends.

Please note the sessions are in AUD and booking an available time can be done here on my Calendly Calendar

“I wish every artist had the opportunity to engage in mentorship with Ida Sophia. When I first met Ida she was a guest lecturer with the World of Co Artist Residency I was a part of, and she taught us about performance and participatory art. I remember waking up at 4AM in Santa Fe, New Mexico, to attend a lecture she was giving virtually over zoom from her home in Australia. I had thought about skipping these early meets but after the first session with Ida I made it a point to wake up before dawn each time she was leading a discussion. Ida teaches and mentors with such a depth of knowledge, support, grace, and encouragement that would ground me for months after just one hour together. I have many tools in the form of exercises, readings, and mantras that I return to time and again for support thanks to my mentorship opportunity with Ida. I cannot recommend her enough. She is pure gold.”
