Departed Dialogues, 2019

Ida Sophia considers the next phase of the departed’s journey. Does dialogue exist ‘up there’, in nirvana, the next world, the hereafter? What (perhaps) might it sound like? Can we be heard?

The first law of thermodynamics states that:

the total energy of an isolated system [i.e: the body] is constant; energy can be transformed from one form to another, but can be neither created nor destroyed [in death].

Applied in this context, a departed souls’ energy remains, causing a line of connection/ communication to remain open.

The imagined soundscape represents the departed souls’ dialogue in the next world; their energetic unity which exists beyond the physicality of plain language.
